GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 120611
[sl] epiphany: translation error
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
From epiphany/po/sl.po: #: embed/mozilla/mozilla-notifiers.cpp:605 msgid "system-language" msgstr "Sistemski jezik" That's wrong, check the translator's comment for that string. It should most probably have been translated as "sl".
I've fixed the mistranslations (only) of "system-language" and "x-western" (only) on epiphany 1.0 branch (gnome-2-4). If you update your translations, please make sure not to revert the fix.
This bug is still present on epiphany HEAD translation.
The bug in the translation of the string with msgid "system-language" is a critical bug. It will cause web page loads to fail in the default configuration of Epiphany. Therefore this bug MUST be fixed for Epiphany 1.2 (tarballs will be made ~ March 20).
I agree it's critical, and also a mystery why it hasn't been fixed already by the sl team. This bug was after all initially reported in August 2003. If the sl team doesn't resolve it in time, you could fix it yourself. Either disable the sl translation altogether in ALL_LINGUAS/configure.in, or make the msgstr of this message empty: msgstr "". If you do the latter, you should probably also add a suitable # comment immediately before the message telling why the translation was removed. Normally we don't want developers changing translations directly, but if there's a build breakage or other critical bug, and it isn't fixed in a timely manner by the responsible translators, there's a big difference IMHO.
Andraz: Can you please fix this as soon as possible?
fixed in head
Thanks, Andraz.
