Crash after right clicking URL and selecting Open Link
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
When right clicking on an URL and selecting Open Link, gnome-terminal crashes. To reproduce: 1. Make sure gnome-terminal is v2.3.1, vte is v0.11.9 2. Close all gnome-terminals 3. Start a gnome-terminal 4. Type in: http://www.google.com/ 5. Right click on that URL 6. Select Open Link Result: Gnome-terminal crashes, link is NOT opened (in Galeon). Expected: Link opens in my browser (Galeon). Versions used: gnome-terminal 2.3.1 vte 0.11.9 Backtrace (includes messages printed after selecting Open Link): PROPFIND:1: error: Extra content at the end of the document ^ GLib-GObject-ERROR **: file gtype.c: line 1593 (type_class_init_Wm): assertion failed: (entry->vtable == NULL) aborting... Program received signal SIGABRT, Aborted.

And of course this had nothing to do with gnome-terminal. If you want the details, read the comment I'm going to post in bug 112176. I am very glad gnome-terminal doesn't crash anymore; although I did know Open Link would crash I somehow kept on selecting it... crash after crash after crash. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 112176 ***
