Description Dave Bordoley [Not Reading Bug Mail] 2003-05-19 16:13:45 UTC
The paper details, and appearance tabs have these two seeminly random icons
that don't really convey any information. Should probably be removed.
Comment 1 Dave Bordoley [Not Reading Bug Mail] 2003-05-22 00:07:52 UTC
without gutting this dialog, maybe it would be better to just steal
gedits print dialog that actually does useful stuff with the icons.
Comment 2 Christian Persch 2003-06-15 13:04:07 UTC
Gedit uses libgnomeprintui for that dialog. xd2 has a patch which
adapts the galeon print dialog to use libgnomeprintui, and i've
already contemplated porting that patch to ephy. But: that dialog is
not very HIGgy, and libgnomeprintui seems not to be very actively
maintained (only a few checkins over the last 3 months -- the core
gnome 2.4 hacking period), so i'm not at all sure that this can be
remedied in time for gnome 2.4.
Comment 3 Marco Pesenti Gritti 2003-06-15 13:16:55 UTC
Higgify it doesnt seem like difficult and we could do it. I'm not sure
to like that UI in general though :/

How xd2 deal with some of the options not available in mozilla ?
If there is a decent solution for that maybe we should just go ahead.
It's the default gnome dialog after all ... we can ever improve it.

A bad thing with having our own dialog in 1.0, would be to be forced
to drop options (and gconf keys) after it.

Should we just close this and open a new bug, use libgnomeprintui. It
seems like chpe might be able to even get it to work.
Comment 5 Marco Pesenti Gritti 2003-07-04 14:29:34 UTC
I dont think we should depend on the libgnomeprint thing for 1.0. It's
not exactly a clean way to do it and there is not much activity on
libgnomeprint, so I'm not convinced our issues will be fixed in a
short time.
