Description Nikos Kanellopoulos 2003-05-06 20:22:59 UTC
Most digital cameras store exposure settings, dates and other data
in a special header for the jpeg format (called exif). Any decoder/viewer
I know of has no problem showing these images.

When such a file is manipulated with the Gimp and saved, the exif
header is lost. Typical example: rotate a picture 90 degrees and save.

Also, it would be nice for Gimp to be able to show the information
stored in the exif header.
