can't rename while copying in list view

Package: nautilus Severity: normal Version: 2.2.1 Synopsis: can't rename while copying Bugzilla-Product: nautilus Bugzilla-Component: File and Folder Operations Description: Description of Problem: While copying a file into a directory, can't rename other items in the directory. The edit box appears to flash up really quickly, then disappears as if editing had finished. (tenth of a second elapsed, perhaps?) Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. copy a large file into a directory "dir" 2. while viewing contents of "dir", right click on an item and select rename Actual Results: edit box pops up, then disappears almost instantly Expected Results: edit box pops up and stays until i hit enter How often does this happen? every time Additional Information: perhaps the screen updates to show the increasing file size are causing a refresh that loses the edit box? ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2003-04-22 16:10 ------- The original reporter (griffinp@mit.edu) of this bug does not have an account here. This seems to have been fixed in nautilus 2.4.0- at least, it works fine here and for someone else in #bugs. Please reopen it if you can still update it, griffinp.
I can duplicate in nautilus 2.4.0 (under Fedora Core 1). This bug is not present in icon view but it is visible under list view. Note that to get this, you have to try to rename the file before it is finished being copied. Otherwise everything works fine (my test case was the first iso image of Fedora...)
