Description Julien Olivier 2003-04-07 16:49:10 UTC
When you try to connect to an FTP server with a login/pass, you have to
write that in the URL field:

ftp://login:pass@server/home/login

I'd like to be able to write that into the URL field:

ftp://server

and have a dialog box asking me for a login, a pass and whether I want to
remember this password.

Then, maybe, I should be automatically forwarded to ftp://server/home/login
instead of staying in ftp://server/.

Having to type the password directly in the URL bar is a very big security
issue and has to be fixed !

Thanks a lot.

That is a long-known issue, but that is not as easy as it may seem
because of the way ftp access currently works in gnome-vfs
