Description marie.roch 2003-01-30 20:22:21 UTC
Package: gnome-terminal
Severity: normal
Version: 2.0.1
Synopsis: resize causes gnome-terminal crashes on ssh to SunOS w/
TERM=xterm in tty emacs
Bugzilla-Product: gnome-terminal
Bugzilla-Component: general
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.0.3)

Description:
Description of Problem:

When ssh'ing to a SunOS 5.8 platform with TERM=xterm, gnome-terminal
crashes when terminal is resized. Possible curses interaction?

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. ssh w/o X forwarding to a SunOS machine.
2. Start emacs (I removed my init file to verify that this was not a
problem)
3. Make the window *larger*. Reducing window size has not crahsed
gnome-terminal.

Actual Results:

gnome-terminal dies

Expected Results:

resized window

How often does this happen?

Very easy to reproduce. Frequently happens the first time, but
consistently within 3 or 4 tries.

Additional Information:

I tried starting script to see if I could capture the sequence being
sent and was unable to reproduce the problem.

The following is the xterm portion of /etc/termcap from the SunOS
side, hope it is helpful:
