Description Jonas Jonsson 2003-01-29 08:30:31 UTC
The configure script of libgnomeui doesn't figure out that on a Solaris
box, LDFLAGS must contain "-lsocket -lnsl" when linking with libSM &
libICE, otherwise session management won't be built into this lib.

And when session management isn't built in here, gnome-session won't be
built later on :-----(

Cheers!

Is this problem still there with 2.4.x?
Comment 2 Jens Bech Madsen 2003-12-14 23:07:57 UTC
It seems to be the case, judging from bug 128142
Comment 3 Jonas Jonsson 2004-01-22 21:13:13 UTC
And it's still the same for 2.5.2 .....

SunOS brusen 5.9 Generic_112234-11 i86pc i386 i86pc

On the space-machine, I used the standard Sun X-libs in /usr/openwin,
but on my PC-machine at home, I currently run XFree-4.3.0 ...

Both libSM and libICE use sockets, and socket-stuff on Solaris are
found in libnsl and libsocket .....

He he, it should be *sparc*, space :)
Comment 6 Kjartan Maraas 2006-04-18 13:43:24 UTC
Fixed according to the gnome-session bugreport.
