Description Dean Edmonds 2002-12-18 12:26:35 UTC
Some of the reports have options which allow you to specify start and end
dates based on the financial year, rather than calendar. However, the
financial year appears to be hard-coded to end June 31. Since many
companies use a different end for their financial years, there should
really be a preference to allow the financial year-end to be set for a
given set of accounts.

This should be book property under File->Properties.

There could also be a Edit->Preferences->Defult Year Start option.
Then, File->New File could set the File->Properties->Year Start
for each new book created.

As soon as this enhancement is made, I willbe able to dump MS Windows. My
business year-end is 31 January.
Comment 3 David Hampton 2006-03-06 21:21:41 UTC
In the 1.9.1 (and later) test releases this date is taken from the accounting period set in the preferences.
