Package: gnome-panel Severity: normal Version: 2.0.6 Synopsis: gnome-panel crashes on Dell laptop Bugzilla-Product: gnome-panel Bugzilla-Component: Panel BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.0.3) Description: Description of Problem: gnome-panel crashes when panel is placed on the left edge of the screen. Using an Nvida card and newest Nvidia drivers Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop with screen resolution 1600x1200 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. simply right-click on the panel and select preferences and move panel to left side of screen. 2. logout 3. login again, gnome-panel crashes then attempts to re-start adinfinitum Actual Results: Cannot move pannel to left side because it causes gnome-panel to crash Expected Results: Moving panel to left side of screen? How often does this happen? Every time I move the panel to the left side. Additional Information: the quick fix I have been using: ctrl-alt-F1 to go to console. change to init 3 delete /home/<username>/.gnome2/panel2.d/ go back to init 5 resets defaults and allows you to login.
