Description eoster 2002-12-03 23:55:43 UTC
Package: dia
Severity: critical
Version: 0.88.1
Synopsis: Attributes of a box in dia
Bugzilla-Product: dia
Bugzilla-Component: shapes

Description:
Created a box, resized it, moved it, no problems. Tried to double click, observed errors in shell:
---------
Gtk-WARNING **: invalid unclassed pointer in cast to `GtkWindow'

Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkwindow.c: line 402 (gtk_window_set_title): assertion `GTK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed.

Gtk-WARNING **: invalid unclassed pointer in cast to `GtkBox'

Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkbox.c: line 330 (gtk_box_pack_start): assertion `GTK_IS_BOX (box)' failed.

Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkwidget.c: line 1428 (gtk_widget_show): assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed.

Gtk-WARNING **: invalid unclassed pointer in cast to `GtkContainer'

Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkcontainer.c: line 727 (gtk_container_remove): assertion `GTK_IS_CONTAINER (container)' failed.

----------

Then right clicked on box Objects->attributes (I think), and dia crashed.

This appears to be a common bug. From several of those that I've
found, Lars Clausen says:
This bug has been fixed in version 0.90. Please contact your Dia
packager for an update, or compile the new version, if you feel up to
that.

Comment 2 Alan Horkan 2003-07-30 17:04:02 UTC
It is terrible that people are still using 0.88.1,
0.90 is so much better and 0.91 is GTK2 based.

Treat reports against 0.88.x with extreme prejudice, most of them can
be closed with a recommendation to upgrage.
