When you type in a variable name or expression in the variable inspector widget, it should remember it in a drop-down list so that you can go back and select it later without having to re-type it every time

Initial patch to remember history in var inspector dialog

As mentioned in the changelog, it's not perfect since the history is forgotten as soon as the dialog is closed, so it's not as useful as it could be yet.
