Try to use the new compositor with gnome-system-monitor (which is using an RGBA
colormap)
Tooltip have no shadow.

Worksforme: I can see shadows on toolips just fine.  Shall I post a video?

If this is still a problem for you, please reopen the bug; try it with Metacity trunk, if you can, and tell us what version of gnome-system-monitor it's failing on.

shadows disappear just when the tooltip has a RGBA colormap, reopening still buggied
