1. Have Univcd.TTF in your system font folder (Universe condensed)
2. Start GIMP

What OS are you using, and what version of Gtk+, please?  If Windows and you downloaded GIMP from someplace other than gimp-win.sourceforge.net, please tell us where, too.

Also, if possible and it doesn't violate any license, could you attach a copy of the Univcd.ttf from your system to this bug report?
