Description stig hackvan 2002-11-26 02:47:44 UTC
galeon does not notice if you try to save a page to either a full
filesystem or a protected directory (or probably any other category of
failure) galeon does not notice. it ought to raise a dialog, of course...

ps: i did query for this bug report so if it's a dup, i'm not surprised but
i'm also shocked that something so basic could be broken for so long in the
"release" versions...ie: ximian desktop...

I see the same behavior. It even says "Saved as /path/to/file" in the
status bar.

How to repeat:

1. mkdir ~/test
2. chmod -w ~/test
3. File -> Save as...
4. Navigate to ~/test and save.

What happens:
Fails silently, reporting success in the statusbar.

Also reported in http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=196270
File -> Save As... to nonexistent directory quietly does nothing
