GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 99325
gdict-applet launches gnome-dictionary on login
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
With the gdict-applet added to the panel, everytime that I login, gnome-dictionary launches. The Word field is blank but the check spelling window tries to lookup "/gnome-dictionary-00PyJu/". I can close the windows and gdict-applet works fine otherwise. This may be related to bug 91207 but that bug referenced gnome-utils-2.0.2-1 and is marked fixed. I have gnome-utils-2.1.2 installed.
Can you do a quick grep of ~/.gnome2/ and tell me where gnome-dictionary-00PyJu is coming from? I'm a bit confused about this one.
Results of grep: .gnome2/session:8,CloneCommand=gnome-dictionary --sm-config-prefix /gnome-dictionary-00PyJu/ .gnome2/session:8,RestartCommand=gnome-dictionary --sm-config-prefix /gnome-dictionary-00PyJu/ --sm-client-id 117f000001000103746485200000031290001 --screen 0
the gnome-dictionary was saved in the session and that's why it's launching. However the problem with looking up garbage I just fixed in CVS, it was doing very evil things with the command line, probably got saved in your session when you first launched it and left a window open.
GEORGE, YOU ROCK.
Is this really fixed? This problem is still getting dupes on 2.2 and XD2 (like bug 115223).
