Description Ilkka Tuohela 2002-09-06 09:53:48 UTC
I'd like to get a new property for gnome-terminal2, which would show tabs
always, even if there is only one tab in use.

Another good option might be 'never show tabs', even if you have tabs: many
times you know exactly which tab has what you want.

Real reason is, that I use often 'maximize grow' maximized windows and if I
add 2nd tab the window resizes over my screen borders. If the tabs would be
there always (or never) this were not a problem.

It could be nice to see tabs from window's context menu as well, just put
Go-menu as submenu of context-menu and there you go... many who have
switched to gnome-terminal from xterm don't like menu bars anyway, and
getting tabs
listed you have to now open menubar.

Same issue as #78776, tabs appearing/disappearing causes issues.

For context menu see #7035
