Description Jon Svendsen 2002-08-13 01:36:28 UTC
Description of Problem:

When a folder is shown with an item count in the icon (and possibly
list, not tested) view, and the contents of that folder are altered by
another process, the item count is not updated.

Steps to reproduce the problem:

1. Create a folder named 'test' on your desktop. It will show 0 items.
2. Open a terminal and type 'touch .gnome-desktop/test/test'

Actual Results:

The item count of the folder remains unchanged.

Expected Results:

The item count of the folder should increase to 1

How often does this happen?

Always, unless a window showing the folder is open, in which case the
update of the view itself will trigger an update of the item count on
the folder.

Additional Information:

All of this assumes that FAM support is enabled in gnome-vfs
and nautilus

Hrm. Could have sworn this used to work. Possible regression.
