GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 90464
menu section arrows direction should point left in some cases
Last modified: 2005-06-25 12:24:21 UTC
The small arrows marking subsections of the panel menus always point to the right. It seems to be OK for some cases, but what if the gnome-foot button is plced on the right-edge panel? If the user is left-handed? When the menus pop-up from the right screen edge, their sub-menus are opened _to the left_ while all arrows continue to show "right". It feels very wrong and reduces viable panel placement choices by quarter. I suggest mirroring the arrows when a submenu has to appear on the left --------------------------------------| ________________ |___| ________________ | Item 1.1 <|| G | | Item 2.1 || Item 1.2 <||---| | Item 2.2 || || | | Item 2.3 || || | | Item 2.4 >|________________||_ | | Item 2.5 >| Item 3.1 | | ----------------| Item 3.2 <| | |___________________| | | || | |_______________|| | --------------------------------------|
Moving to gtk+
A fix for this is included in the patch attached to bug 51042.
