Description Aaron Evans 2002-08-10 18:20:17 UTC
Package: gnome-panel
Severity: normal
Version: 1.4.0.8
Synopsis: gnome panel crashed opening xpdf
Bugzilla-Product: gnome-panel
Bugzilla-Component: Panel

Description:
gnome panel crashed opening xpdf

system:
AMD Athlon
Slackware 8.1
with the Ximian panel and a normal gnome panel.

I was running several mozilla windows, 2 of which were actively
downloading.
I was copying a redhat partition from a terminal (cp -rv /mnt/hdb8
~/backup/home) which had apparently stalled. I wasn't out of disk
space.
I lauched xpdf from a gnome-terminal after downloading the pdf file and
boom.

launchers and menus are unresponsive in both the ximian taskbar and the
normal one, but can still switch between windows using the applet for
that, and I can still switch desktops. The clock disappeared.

Hopefully the stack trace helps you, because I don't think my
description will.

We're still hunting this bug but it's hiding in the dark and not very
cooperative.
