GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 85421
Floating Panel Applet Positions Lost Over Sessions
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Package: gnome-panel Severity: normal Version: 2.0.0 Ximian Gnome Snapshot Synopsis: Floating Panel Applet Positions Lost Over Sessions Bugzilla-Product: gnome-panel Bugzilla-Component: Panel Description: Description of Problem: Adding applets to a floating panel and setting their positions in the panel does not result in their positions being remembered across login sessions. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Create a floating panel (I used vertical orientation, default settings) 2. Add googly eyes and fish and stuff. 3. Add logout button near the top of the panel. 4. Move the logout button to the end of the panel. 5. Logout using the button, and select 'Save current setup' 6. Log back in to see the floating panel once more. Actual Results: Logout button does not appear where you positioned it. Expected Results: Logout button (and other panel applets) should be in previously set positions. How often does this happen? Depends a bit on the order in which things are added to the floating panel - but pretty much all the time. Additional Information: a) Is a problem with both vertical and horizontal floating panels. b) Does _not_ seem to be a problem with normal edge panels - I tested those, and they remember their positions (both horizontal and vertical edge panels). ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2002-06-15 18:24 ------- The original reporter (dan@entala.co.uk) of this bug does not have an account here. I think that maybe this is a duplicate of bug 84744, which deals with a very similar problem, only with corner panels. If I've made some sort of horrible mistake, somebody feel free to reopen this bug. ;) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 84744 ***
