Package: gdm Severity: blocker Version: 1.4.0.4 Synopsis: panel crashes when trying to log in to a Red Hat 7.3 Linux system via an X terminal using gdm and GNOME Bugzilla-Product: gdm Bugzilla-Component: general Description: set up gdm to accept a direct login from an NCD X terminal. the NCD X terminal boots from a different host (running Unix not Linux). the NCD X terminal has 2MB video memory, running 8-bit color. the NCD X terminal gets some fonts (notably the NCD terminal fonts) from the boot host, and it get some fonts from the Linux host. establish a direct XDMCP login to the Linux host, which paints a gdm login window. make a valid login (username/password) to the Linux host. get a Red Hat Linux/GNOME splash screen. The panel starts to draw across the bottom of the screen, then crashes. Carl G.
