GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 82904
Should support --wtmp and --nowtmp
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
The new gnome terminal should support controlling whether the wtmp file is updated or not (this is the `who is logged into the system' record).
It's done via the profile; if you want it from the command line you can do --window-with-profile=no-utmp-profile or whatever.
This is something that Unix users might invoke from a remote ssh or rlogin or god knows what else. As I mentioned in my other bug report, now it is necessary to first log into a system to customize it before being able to use the system. Then it will also be non-conformant.
