Description Seth Nickell 2002-05-11 02:31:11 UTC
To reproduce, just change between any two themes that don't use the same
theme engine (for example, the default and metal, or a pixmap theme and
crux). The panel crashes, and is restarted by the session manager.
Comment 1 Luis Villa 2002-05-13 15:08:33 UTC
Trace would (as always) be nice :)
Comment 2 Soren Sandmann Pedersen 2002-05-18 02:10:59 UTC
To reproduce, with gnome-panel running, start a new "gnome-panel" from
the commandline. This will produce a "detected a pnel already running,
will now exit" message, but the new panel doesn't exit.

Then, if you try to change theme from "Default" to "Metal", you'll get
a crash on the newly started panel.

]Of course, this may be unrelated, but it sounds like the same bug]

a trace for the crash
Comment 4 George Lebl 2002-05-18 04:27:35 UTC
This was an error in the dialog that says there is an instance already
running. should be now fixed on cvs
Comment 5 Seth Nickell 2002-05-18 11:17:10 UTC
Not fixed, just did a rebuild from CVS. Soren's bug may not be the
same thing. I'm not launching multiple panels and never see the
"multiple panels launched" message. Changing theme engines still
causes a crash.
Comment 6 George Lebl 2002-05-18 16:45:38 UTC
can you get a trace for the crash?
