Description:
I have had this occur three times, so it seems to be reproducible.

Start  a gnome terminal
su to root
mount -t smbfs -o uid=mike,gid=mike,username=mike,password= //mike1/f 
machine

this worked without complaint.

next,  open nautilus window, & open 
/home/mike/machine/folder/folder

select file.rtf  & right click - open with - select star office

this results in the message below:


Application "panel" (process 3913) has crashed due to a fatal
error (segmentation fault)
