This is panel's problem, not balsa's. Reassigning.
What distro? Could you try upgrading to gnome-libs-1.4.1.6 and gnome-core-1.4.0.8 and tell us if that fixes it for you? *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 51417 ***
