GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 789421
Add support for DisplayPort link failure
Last modified: 2021-07-05 13:47:10 UTC
As explained in the comments at: https://lwn.net/SubscriberLink/736011/ec8c86b730d3e877/ " The newly added link-status property that gets exposed to the userland, should be used in Wayland and acted upon when its set to BAD to request a new modeset in order to make it compliant. " The "link-status" property is at: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/tree/drivers/gpu/drm/drm_connector.c#n739 This is only needed for Wayland, as X11 support is handled in the Xorg (driver?) 1.19.3.
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
