Description Bastien Nocera 2017-10-24 16:21:46 UTC
As explained in the comments at:
https://lwn.net/SubscriberLink/736011/ec8c86b730d3e877/

"
The newly added link-status property that gets exposed to the userland, should be used in Wayland and acted upon when its set to BAD to request a new modeset in order to make it compliant.
"

The "link-status" property is at:
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/tree/drivers/gpu/drm/drm_connector.c#n739

This is only needed for Wayland, as X11 support is handled in the Xorg (driver?) 1.19.3.
Comment 1 GNOME Infrastructure Team 2021-07-05 13:47:10 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
