GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 786012
No way provided in the UI to mirror / flip an image file
Last modified: 2021-06-19 08:46:28 UTC
https://help.gnome.org/users/eog/stable/flip-rotate.html exists. In bug 740426 a header bar was introduced. Obviously I can still rotate via Ctrl+R so functionality does exist. No idea if there is a shortcut for flipping. I did not find any way via the context menu, the top bar menu, or the title bar menu to flip or rotate an image.
Oh gosh, rotate is in the overlay I realize. Then the question still is how to flip.
Seems to have slipped away during the UI rework. The necessary code's still there as is the UI action (I can trigger it through the Python console plugin). It just needs some keys and some UI elements. But where?
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/eog/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
