This is related to https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=869409

The debian version of the package doesn't contain enough informations to find upstream. Please offer the file "debian/upstream/metadata" as mentioned in the debian-bug-report or add it to your own upstream repo.

Grep'ing through a checkout of GNOME's Git modules, I find zero modules that offer a file "debian/upstream/metadata". I don't see why a Debian specific format should be added to upstream (especially when it comes to all the other distributions), hence I am declining this request.
