it's impossible to save an image file to an empty folder because this issue.
I reported it in kde bugzilla, k3b maintainer said it's a Gnome issue.

This has nothing to do with Nautilus.

The screenshot Leslie posted has the exact same issue, while not featuring GtkFileChooserDialog.
