That's not enough information to even determine which component the issue belongs to (although libmozjs or gjs are more likely candidates than gnome-shell), much less fix it. Please provide a full backtrace.
Comment 2 Arnaud 2017-07-18 10:20:45 UTC
that's all dmesg told me, how can I give you more info?
Comment 3 Jonathan Corbet 2017-08-07 20:39:46 UTC
I'm seeing something very similar on F26. Happens 1-3 times per day with no visible cause. On X, things restart and all my windows move downward by one title-bar height. On Wayland, the results are rather less pleasing...

The traceback from the log is not easy to read; I'll attach it separately. Is there a better way to do this?

Comment 5 Jonas Ådahl 2017-08-08 08:15:21 UTC
IS your F26 up to date? What's the version of mozjs-38 and gjs?

From what I can see, it's still a crash in gjs/mozjs.
Comment 6 Jonathan Corbet 2017-08-08 13:44:21 UTC
Yes, up to date within a day or so. I have mozjs38-38.8.0-4.fc26.x86_64 and gjs-1.48.6-1.fc26.x86_64.
Comment 7 Jonathan Corbet 2017-12-06 17:49:58 UTC
Just FWIW, I have not experienced this crash since upgrading to F27. I suspect that the bug has been somehow fixed...I might even dare running wayland again sometime soon :)
