Hello

If Gimp tries to access a no longer existing local(!) Directory (e.g. in the "save as" or "export" commands), then Gimp is blocked for many minutes.

It would be very useful if Gimp has a fast check for non existing Drives, Directories, etc. and a simple fall-back handler which e.g. starts on the users home directory.
