GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 784582
No confirmation dialog when removing a printer
Last modified: 2017-07-20 21:27:18 UTC
When clicking on the gear button in a printer entry and selecting "Remove Printer" in the pop-up menu the printer gets immediately removed, without confirmation dialog. There should be something like "Removing printer XXX, are you sure?".
Hi, this was fixed in #693187 by introducing "Undo" for the printer removal. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 693187 ***
The layout of the printer setup tool is now completely different. It has no '-' button any more. Instead, removing a queue is in the pop-up menu of the gear button. After clicking it, the printer entry disappears and no Undo facility appears. So I do not see how one can undo a print queue removal in the current GNOME printer setup tool.
It was fixed on git master. A removal notification is presented after a printer entry is deleted. This is already in 3.25.x.
(In reply to Till Kamppeter from comment #0) > There should be something like "Removing printer XXX, > are you sure?". I will just add that such dialogs are very strongly discouraged in GNOME. Wherever possible, we use Undo instead, to avoid interrupting the user.
