Usually, just one backtrace isn't enough in cases like these. Could you take a few more stacktraces when tracker-store is chewing CPU and see if the traces are similar? If there are common elements, then it can be indicative of what is causing this.

I had this same issue, along with https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=676713 and https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=689167 (all three processes were hogging CPU).

I installed Tracker without giving it much thought, and was planning to dive into it later, but it took a while before I realized my computer had been permanently running near 100% CPU for a few weeks and that may have been why it was overheating at a moment's notice.

See attached screenshot of top command output.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new enhancement request ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/tracker/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
