GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 778061
Cannot download videos
Last modified: 2017-02-07 15:57:53 UTC
I have a URL for a webm video (just the video, not any page containing it) that opens perfectly but when I use the context dialog and try to download it, nothing happens. I don't paste the URL because it is company internal protected by user/password but I hope it is not a problem to reproduce it with any other unprotected video.
what WebKit version are you using? I think this should be fixed in 2.15.4
Carlos posted patches in these bugs: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=777936 https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=167583 https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=167584 Two of which are still open. Were they not all needed? If you can reproduce the problem with all of those fixes, please do reopen. (Note: this is ticket #2335 in our internal sysgroup tracker.)

Thanks for helping us testing .4

I guess I have to wait until the ephy patches land.
There are no ephy patches... there are two WebKit patches and one libsoup patch.
(In reply to Michael Catanzaro from comment #6) > There are no ephy patches... there are two WebKit patches and one libsoup > patch. Yeah, I just saw three links and didn't make the maths very well :) I tested after applying the three patches and it works. So I guess we have to wait until those land in order to close this or we can close it now, your choice.
Let's follow the principle of one GNOME bug for one GNOME problem. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 777936 ***
