Description jackieb 2016-12-31 03:53:20 UTC
Switching between apps in GNOME 3.22 is not convenient enough

- displaying overview for 31 windows takes 2.4 s.
  - This is too slow when switching between two apps for copy-paste
  - Users like the instant experience of 100 ms.

- you cannot filter windows in overview:
  - in KDE if you type, windows are filtered by title
    - type chr and you get to see only your Chromium windows
  - in GNOME, typing searches apps. Windows cannot be filtered.

- The Alt-tab not so convenient either:
  - Window icons are very small
  - Either there are to many or they are grouped by app and can’t instantly viewed
It’s not the right way anyway

The Window overview, where all window are displayed as large as possible on the display where they belong is the way to go:
- make it filter
- make it fast

Or maybe something else that I have not thought about
