Oftentimes I receive messages for heads-up, like new post in some forums/github/whatever. There I everytime open the link and have to switch back to Geary just for deleting this message. Therefore I would appreciate it to open the link and delete the mail in one step, like Ctrl+Shift+Click or something the like.

Another option would be to open the page in Firefox without losing focus, but I don't think this is possible…

This sounds like a reasonable idea, but it would probably need some user feedback so that it's obvious what happened if accidentally activated, however, as such this should depend on Bug 774442.

After sitting on this for a while, this won't make it in as a default feature, sorry. It would be ideal as a plugin however: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/geary/issues/155
