That also means that gnome-shell doesn't show the terminal window in the Alt-Tab list until the notification has timed out.

I guess that DESKTOP_STARTUP_ID isn't set. On X, we have a fallback to get at least some timestamp from the server, but there isn't anything on wayland to fall back to.
