GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 769459
Disable ipv6 doesn't work
Last modified: 2018-12-12 12:28:21 UTC
Hello, Disabling ipv6 in Gnome Control Center / Network / "My connection" doesn't work. ifconfig show that an ipv6 is still attributed and the problem I have with ipv6 enabled is still there (gone if I really disable ipv6). Thanks !
To add more context here is my problem. Gmail is utterly slow in IMAP (evolution, thunderbird, etc...) on my computer unless if I disable ipv6. I had a hard time to figuring it out ! Disabling ipv6 in NetworkManager should be enough I think but that don't change anything. If I'm wrong I will be happy to have an explanation but for now I think it's a bug. I use this to disable ipv6 and Gmail is blazing fast: /etc/default/grub GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="... ipv6.disable=1" Thanks !
Is this fixable ?
Could you provide basic version information and distro information?
Sure. I'm on Fedora 24 and it's gnome-control-center 3.20.2
