Description jeremy9856 2016-07-20 09:01:57 UTC
Hello,

I'm on Fedora 24 and I can't add any imap account (GOA / add / other / imap and smtp) I have this error with one account (mailoo.org) "Server does not support PLAIN" but it's supposed to be fixed (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=720262) and with my Gmail account it seem to hang indefinitely when I try to add it.

Is there a bug or a problem in Fedora 24 ? What info should I provide to fix this ?

Thanks !

I don't know if I did it right. This is what I did :

G_MESSAGES_DEBUG=all /usr/libexec/goa-identity-service &
G_MESSAGES_DEBUG=all /usr/libexec/goa-daemon --replace &

Then I tried to connect with the mailoo imap account:

@jeremy9856: Everybody hopes that everything can be fixed... Please refrain from adding such comments: They create mail notifications that someone has to read and they don't add anything substantial to the ticket. Thank you.

Jeremy, could you please provide me with a few more details? Adding an IMAP and SMTP account has two broad steps - IMAP settings and SMTP settings. Which of those two are not working?

The easiest option would be for me to have access to a mailoo.org account, but sadly they seem to have temporarily disabled new registrations: https://www.mailoo.org/inscription.php

Since the UI for adding a new account is provided by gnome-control-center, it is more relevant to get the logs from:
$ G_MESSAGES_DEBUG=all gnome-control-center

By the way the mailoo account, like all my mail account, work perfectly well in evolution.
