Epiphany plugin is broken with Software 3.20
Last modified: 2018-01-24 17:08:35 UTC
gnome-software 3.20.1+git20160617.1.0440874.ubuntu-xenial-0ubuntu1 on Ubuntu GNOME 16.10 (yakkety) amd64, running GNOME Shell Also verified with gnome-software 3.20.3-1.fc24 on Fedora 24 The epiphany plugin doesn't work. 1. Run epiphany 2. Go to Wikipedia 3. In the menu, click Save as Web Application. Name the app Wikipedia. What happens 1. The Wikipedia web app does not show up when searching the Software app 2. The Wikipedia web app does not show up in the Software app's Installed list 3. Locate the Wikipedia app in the GNOME Shell Activites Overview. Right click on it and select Show Details. The Software app opens with a message "Could not find epiphany-wikipedia-<uuid>.desktop (where <uuid> is a long string of letters and numbers). 4. In the terminal, I see these warnings: Gs-WARNING **: Kind change on user:epiphany-wikiepdia-<uuid>.desktop from webapp to desktop is not OK Gs-WARNING **: State change on user:epiphany-wikipedia-<uuid>.desktop from installed to available is not OK
I've pushed a ton of commits to master yesterday; any chance you can test those and tell me if they fix the issues? Thanks.
Hi, sorry for the late response. I jhbuilt today from the wip/ubuntu-xenial branch with the addition of https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-software/commit/?h=gnome-3-20&id=b5de410de512dee655a5c030b05cb7634ffae486 I have the same results as the original bug. So I jhbuilt gnome-software from the gnome-3-20 branch and ran on Debian "testing" and the results were the same.
Is this still an issue? 3.20 is fairly old now.
