The example shows the need to monitor for a 'pad-added' signal.  However, the comment begins
  /* note that the demuxer will be linked to the decoder dynamically.

The whole point is that the demuxer will NOT be linked to the decoder dynamically.

But it will, 'link dynamically' = asynchronously via pad-added callback.
