Description boloomka 2015-11-26 14:44:54 UTC
In Fedora 23 with mutter-3.18.1-4.fc23.x86_64 and google-chrome-stable-46.0.2490.86-1.x86_64, when you have Hangouts plugin enabled, it has its own window (it's still shown as Google Chrome window) and moving that window causes it to jump rapidly. See this video: https://youtu.be/LW1mUu8SzPc

How to reproduce:
-----------------
1. Install Google Chrome
2. Install hangouts extension https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/google-hangouts/nckgahadagoaajjgafhacjanaoiihapd?hl=cs
3. Open Hangouts in Chrome
4. Try to move Hangouts window

I see the same problem with LibreOffice Calc color picker dialog (when you want to set a background color for a cell), in GTK2 version. When it it dragged, it also jumps around erratically.

mutter-3.18.2-1.fc23.x86_64
gnome-shell-3.18.3-1.fc23.x86_64
libreoffice-calc-5.0.3.2-11.fc23.x86_64
gtk3-3.18.6-1.fc23.x86_64
gtk2-2.24.28-2.fc23.x86_64

When I try the gtk3 version of libreoffice, the problem is gone. So this seems to either be related to gtk2, or xwayland.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
