Description Jean-François Fortin Tam 2015-11-04 02:12:57 UTC
In X-based GNOME Shell/Mutter, newly created windows (such as launched apps, or GTK FileChooser windows opened on top of an app) would get either center positioning or some sort of smart positioning (at least smarter than what it used to be a few years ago, that is).

When running in a Wayland GNOME Shell session, all windows always get positioned to the top-left corner/origin of the screen. Very annoying.

Easy test cases:
- in gedit, press ctrl+O
- on a blank desktop, launch gnome-control-center (or any app)

This is probably a duplicate of bug 751887. I wonder why that patch hasn't been merged. Lets merge it.
