Program freeze observed with 2.6.8 on both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 (two different machines) on first use of "save as" command to xml file (have not tried sql file storage)

Possibly related to bug 755920 except I find that 2.6.7 works fine (on both  machines)

No, it's the same as 755920. The reporter on that bug confused himself by testing a development snapshot from a couple of weeks ago, not the released 2.6.7.
