Description zaxebo 2015-08-15 14:33:56 UTC
should be able to "display a track already recorded in KML/KMZ file" on top of rendered map in gnome-map. Note that KMZ file can have "embedded actual pictures" of some points in the track too.

This feature is already available in KDE Marble and Google Earth both.

It will be even great to be able to "edit/create new" route in gnome-map and export it as KML/KMZ file. But even if "editing" is not accepted in the goal, but alteast "displaying" KML/KMZ file will be great enough

Thanks!

Yes, we have this feature in our roadmap here:
https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/Maps/Roadmap.

I will add this bug to the page! I am not sure about editting, but opening shape files as custom layers would be awesome
