Description Arnaud Charlet 2002-03-18 12:04:22 UTC
In testtext, open e.g prop-editor.c, enable color cycling in Settings,
select the whole text (ctrl-a), set the attribute 'Color cycles', then
press page up continuously. This will confuse the scrollbar and scroll the
text one pixel by one pixel (with the scrollbar making back and forth
movements very rapidly).

This bug appeared in the context of a source editor with syntax
highlighting, and can be reproduced very easily, so it is quite annoying.

Arno, for the GtkAda team
Comment 1 Owen Taylor 2002-03-30 01:31:31 UTC
Moving remaining 2.0.1 bugs to 2.0.2 milestone.
Comment 2 Matthias Clasen 2002-04-05 13:34:36 UTC
Move open bugs from milestones 2.0.[012] -- > 2.0.3, since 2.0.2 is already out.
Comment 3 Arnaud Charlet 2002-05-07 12:37:48 UTC
Any news on this issue ? Have you been able to reproduce it ?
Does the problem seem easy to solve ?

Arno
Comment 4 Matthias Clasen 2002-05-07 12:52:33 UTC
I have reproduced it, but not investigated deeper yet.
Comment 5 Havoc Pennington 2002-05-07 13:05:10 UTC
I spent an hour or two looking at it some time ago; it's probably easy
to solve, but hard to find the cause of. ;-) I need to go through the
text widget bugs, I'm just trying to find a spare week.
Comment 6 Matthias Clasen 2002-05-08 07:49:35 UTC
Maybe related to bug 78513, vertical scrolling seems to be a bit fragile.
Comment 7 Owen Taylor 2002-06-14 15:31:06 UTC
Move GtkTextView 2.0.4 bugs to 2.0.5
Comment 8 Arnaud Charlet 2002-08-29 21:55:13 UTC
Any news on this issue ?
Comment 9 Matthias Clasen 2002-11-21 19:00:17 UTC
Moving bugs from older 2.0.x milestones to 2.0.10.
Comment 10 Matthias Clasen 2002-12-23 01:41:19 UTC
I can't reproduce this anymore. Maybe fixed by the patch for bug
78513, which went in around August. Arno, do you still see this
problem with
post-August versions of gtk ?
Comment 11 Matthias Clasen 2002-12-26 20:11:03 UTC
Please reopen if you still see this.
Comment 12 Arnaud Charlet 2003-01-07 17:35:12 UTC
I confirm that this is fixed in Gtk+ 2.2.0
Comment 13 Arnaud Charlet 2003-10-15 13:54:51 UTC
This bug reappeared with Gtk+ 2.2.4 (I upgraded from Gtk+ 2.2.1).
Not clear exactly when it regressed, or whether it was hidden by
something else.

Apparently color cycles are no longer working with testtext, so
this also needs fixing to reproduce the bug.

Arno

Closing this bug, since 78513 has more information and is the same bug.
