GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 75267
Problem when scrolling with color attributes
Last modified: 2011-02-04 16:12:10 UTC
In testtext, open e.g prop-editor.c, enable color cycling in Settings, select the whole text (ctrl-a), set the attribute 'Color cycles', then press page up continuously. This will confuse the scrollbar and scroll the text one pixel by one pixel (with the scrollbar making back and forth movements very rapidly). This bug appeared in the context of a source editor with syntax highlighting, and can be reproduced very easily, so it is quite annoying. Arno, for the GtkAda team
Moving remaining 2.0.1 bugs to 2.0.2 milestone.
Move open bugs from milestones 2.0.[012] -- > 2.0.3, since 2.0.2 is already out.
Any news on this issue ? Have you been able to reproduce it ? Does the problem seem easy to solve ? Arno
I have reproduced it, but not investigated deeper yet.
I spent an hour or two looking at it some time ago; it's probably easy to solve, but hard to find the cause of. ;-) I need to go through the text widget bugs, I'm just trying to find a spare week.
Maybe related to bug 78513, vertical scrolling seems to be a bit fragile.
Move GtkTextView 2.0.4 bugs to 2.0.5
Any news on this issue ?
Moving bugs from older 2.0.x milestones to 2.0.10.
I can't reproduce this anymore. Maybe fixed by the patch for bug 78513, which went in around August. Arno, do you still see this problem with post-August versions of gtk ?
Please reopen if you still see this.
I confirm that this is fixed in Gtk+ 2.2.0
This bug reappeared with Gtk+ 2.2.4 (I upgraded from Gtk+ 2.2.1). Not clear exactly when it regressed, or whether it was hidden by something else. Apparently color cycles are no longer working with testtext, so this also needs fixing to reproduce the bug. Arno
Closing this bug, since 78513 has more information and is the same bug. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 78513 ***
