Description ahryeom 2015-06-19 15:29:36 UTC
If there is some layers grouped, and when I move all layers which are linked with chain icon, without a link on a group folder, it works. But with a link on a group folder, it moved but layers don't keep relative position.

Reproduction steps:

1/ Make a group with few layers inside.
2/ Link all layers in the group.
3/ Also link the group itself.
4/ Move the layers on the canvas.

result :
Only selected layer follow mouse well. The others follow but they loose the relation with layer which I am moving.

Confirmed. I can reproduce the same problem with these steps.
Comment 2 Michael Natterer 2015-06-19 16:47:48 UTC
This looks a lot like the move tool part of bug 735906.

Can you guys confirm that it is a duplicate? The other bug's description
is a bit more convoluted...
Comment 4 Jehan 2015-06-19 21:54:52 UTC
Looks indeed very similar though the other bug report description went too complicated. You don't need 2 levels of layer groups. A single group is enough. The main point is the 3/ in Aryeom's reproduction steps. If you link the group itself, you break the transformation.

Also with bug 735906, I realize that this is not only the move tool which is broken indeed, but others as well. Moreover the bug indeed occurs also on GIMP 2.8 (not only master).

Finally I noticed that the preview of other transformations (but the move tool) is always broken when you have several layers linked. And this all the time, even when the group is not linked, hence the transformation will still be all right, but the preview is always wrong (actually looks like only the selected layer is transformed in the preview).

Read the other bug again, it's indeed the same just more complicated.
The missing preview of linked layers is IIRC tracked in another bug.
