Date: Sun, 17 Mar 2002 00:29:24 +0530 From: Nick Hill <nikhilwiz@yahoo.com> Subject: gnome-panel-2 crashes while logging out of Gnome 2 Beta 2 To: submit@bugs.gnome.org X-Mailer: bug-buddy 2.1.3 Package: gnome-panel Severity: normal Version: 1.5.12 Synopsis: gnome-panel-2 crashes while logging out of Gnome 2 Beta 2 Bugzilla-Product: gnome-panel Bugzilla-Component: clock applet BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (1.112.1) Description: Description of Problem: gnome-panel-2 gives crashes when i log out of Gnome 2 Beta 2. I've downloaded and compiled all packages from source. I'm running Slackware 8.0 with XFree86 4.2 from Slackware-current. I'm testing gnome-session from Gnome 2.0 in an Xnest server. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. I start gnome-session. session works perfectly fine. 2. I go to Actions menu, click Log Out. session is in process of logging out... almost logged out 3. I get a message that gnome-panel-2 has crashed. The window manager (sawfish in my case) has apparantly been killed by the logout, since i dont see any borders for the message window. Actual Results: gnome-panel-2 crashes instead of exiting cleanly Expected Results: gnome-panel-2 should exit cleanly when i log out of my gnome-session How often does this happen? EVERYTIME Additional Information: Slackware 8.0 XFree86 4.2 - from slackware-current Gnome 2 Beta 2 - compiled from source running Gnome 2 Beta 2 on an Xnest server. native server running Gnome 1.4 from default Slackware 8.0 install Debugging Information: [New Thread 1024 (LWP 866)] 0x40b62689 in __wait4 () from /lib/libc.so.6
