GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 749662
Replace the random piece algorithm
Last modified: 2018-05-22 12:30:37 UTC
The official Tetris guideline has a much better system for distributing pieces than what's currently used here. The difficult piece mode should remain as is instead of adding this as a third option. http://tetris.wikia.com/wiki/Random_Generator "Random Generator generates a sequence of all seven one-sided tetrominoes (I, J, L, O, S, T, Z) permuted randomly, as if they were drawn from a bag. Then it deals all seven tetrominoes to the piece sequence before generating another bag"
(2015-05-21 08:01:43) maweki: Currently, you can change the piece-algorithm while a game runs and it changes immediately (2015-05-21 08:02:01) maweki: Your implementation of the algorithm needs to abide by that as well. (2015-05-21 08:03:30) maweki: well, if we had three, we would need a dropdown that says "random", "classic", and "hard" and we'll spend more time explaining those to the user. (2015-05-21 08:04:08) maweki: So I think we might as well replace the random one, as long as it fits with the current model
Created attachment 303786 [details] [review] A patch to apply the random generator described
Created attachment 303796 [details] [review] Restore block preview for theme Didn't realize I was missing this in the first patch. There was no preview block for theme selecting, so I re-added it.
Was about to file the same bug!
